Indications for C-section:
- Medical Necessity: Recommended for conditions like placenta previa, breech presentation, multiple pregnancies, or specific maternal health concerns.
- Emergency Situations: Essential in emergencies such as fetal distress, umbilical cord issues, or stalled labor.
Planned (Elective) C-sections:
- Scheduled before labour for reasons like previous C-sections, health considerations, or personal preferences.
Procedure:
- Horizontal incision above the pubic hairline (bikini cut) or a vertical incision if needed.
- Incisions in the abdomen and uterus to deliver the baby.
- Careful extraction of the baby, followed by closure with stitches or staples.
Recovery:
- Longer recovery compared to vaginal delivery.
